Since 2009, San Jose Water Company (SJWC) has been making a difference at Martha’s Kitchen in San Jose with “Thanksgiving in January.” This year, Timothy McLaughlin, SJWC’s Manager of Community Relations, presented a $7,500 check to Martha’s Kitchen covering the cost of all meals served during the month of January. SJWC employees and their families volunteered to provide meals and personal care items to the individuals served by the nonprofit whose mission is to feed the hungry with dignity.

“Thanksgiving in January” has inspired and engaged other civic partners, including local elected officials and business and community leaders, to give back to their community. Because of this year’s annual event, Martha’s Kitchen received an additional donation that will pay for another month of meals during “Christmas in July.”

“SJWC is honored to support Martha’s Kitchen and reaffirm our employees’ commitment to the community in which we live, work and serve,” said McLaughlin.
