Cost Implications of a Lower Arsenic MCL

The American Water Works Association Research Foundation has released a study that describes the cost of a new standard for Arsenic for the various levels under consideration by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Both water utilities and the public are encouraged to review this document and the proposed regulation when it comes out in June and make comments to U.S. EPA.

You can access the AWWARF study at the following address: http://www.awwarf.com/research/as_mcl.htm

A pre-publication version of the arsenic regulation should be posted on the EPA web page in the next week or so with the actual proposed regulation published in the Federal Register in June. You can access the pre-publication version at www.epa.gov/OGWDW.
